School education

Reading a blog of a homeschooled student on homeschooling, I came a line that actuely describes the truth about schools, academia: "School is SO not the real world." Even no successful entrepreneur deny this fact, let alone those who wish to live according to their fitra.

And i think you are right…….but school teaches you how to deal with the real world, think that way…….and if your home training is good what you are going to do in schools, you will attract and communicate with the kids you think they are better than you and you will adopt the good of them and throw out the worse of you………..is that so? and i saw kids correcting their attitudes and learning what their parents have not taught them…..and this is the way the non muslims observe the habits of muslim kids and they go near them.

Educational systems in Pakistan are essentially imported from West. No argument o disputation over that. Tomorrow I'm going to give a little presentation on critique on secularization, and one of the main dimensions of secularization thesis is "differentiation" and "societalization": in the first case, modern societies are highly specialized, religion no more performs other roles of educating people, governing with its revealed law, etc.; in the second case, religion is no more a cause of social cohesion in societies, but education is, and other factors. See, educational systems. How can we trust the baseerah of such systems? And have you been reading Iqbal's poetry on Westernized educational systems lately, kollege, madrissa stuff...? I highly recommend you understand his critiques on it in his poetry. Plus, a chapter on same topic is given in Syed Abu Hassan Nadwi's Naqoosh e Iqbal.

In the link I have attached, I have referred to a similar issue in the imitation side of the debate explored. Our current educational system is based on imitation. The more natural way of learning, also represented by the home-schooling system or by our old-time the mudarris-shagird system is based on 'cooperation'.
