If not words, what then?

And, even if with words, what's worth enough? This is the answer that I found satisfying

"A knight proves his worthiness through his deeds."

Freak The Mighty, (a movie adaption of the novel by Rodman Philbrick).

What do you think?

We are the sum of our actions not the sum of our words.

Dear Kadri,

Quote, "We are the sum of our actions not the sum of our words"

Isn't it amazing, though, that I have this ability of summing the story of my life, which is my life, in words!

Ah, but words never manages to paint the full picture and your words only tells your truth, not the truth of others and the real truth. The sum is relative and through that incorrect even though it's correct. =)

Thanks a lot for the criticism.

Let's look at this proposition from the standpoint of God of Islam. "Acc. to many Hadiths (sayings of Prophet of Islam pbuh) God wrote the inner reality of all things on the Guarded Tablet before the creation of the world, a "symbolism" which has played an important role in Islamic cosmology." Nasr further adds, "so that it can also be asserted from this point of view that 'It is by the Word that all things are made."

Probably that's why we are imperfect. What do you think?

Humble regards!

Hmmm...

I don't think it's fair to compare the words of god to the words of man.

Can a perfect god create imperfection and why would he do so?

The Quran wasn't written by god, it was written by man. God did tell his imperfect creation to write his words down, is it then fair to think that the imperfect man could have missed things that god tried to explain, simply because of that imperfection?

What does our imperfection have to do with being created from the Word...? And Word too is God's creation anyway...

Waisay Umer, I do not really go into the matters that philosophise religion. I don't know why but I have something in me is inherently against philosophising religion. Hence most of the times I prefer not to 'speak' about these things... words are dangerous at times... And I am scared of them! :)

M. Umer Toor said...

"Imperfect: that our words are not enough." In this sense i meant. life is about feeling and understanding. preserving them in our words is a huge task before a writer.

philosophizing religion - yeah i agree with you. a very delicate issue, many avoid. but logic is pertinent. perhaps not here. moreover - religion, spiritual peace etc, such notions cause great contempt in this age...

So what! :) Let it be that way. We cannot really change someone's opinions by arguing... Love and understanding is what's needed to be practiced towards others. But i seriously am not in the favour of 'proving' faith through logic...

Sigh... I know i have deviated from the original idea but this just came to my mind...

Strong opinion!! that's another way.
no problem, a good thought needs not context here :-)

thanks for the healthy criticisms!

humble regards.
